You have a wonderful eye for composition but I would suggest that you get out earlier or later in the day. All your pictures are taken when the sun is too high. Softer shadows or softer light protrays more of the mood of the picture.
I took a wonderful class that helped me. It was called DSLR Bootcamp. It was tough but very eye opening. My photography improved so much.
