Release
Manzanar National Monument, California, April 2007

The people imprisoned in the relocation center were eventually released to face the struggle of rebuilding the lives they were ripped from. This image is a metaphor for that release.

It's very Timesque - I like it alot.

I must admit to a little bit of setting up here. My wife and I visited the interpretive center before the ceremony and the door was open with the trees showing behind it. I took a few pictures that didn't work, so when we returned and the door was closed, I quietly slipped behind the screen and opened it again. (I did close it when I was done.)

And that metaphor works so well with the opened doors through the list. I can still see that exit sign beside it as well which also is a metaphor.
