Cranes
Manzanar National Monument, California, April 2007

The cemetery abounds with paper cranes. I particularly like the sense of release and escape that this image evokes in me.

I, too, like that the branch of the fence reminds us that wishes come out of a past.

A nice symbol of good wishes.

also I see ascension here. The cranes are definitely climbing up to the sky as a kite would. The colors are wonderful as well! Both aspects drive your point here I think.

Yes, release is a good word. It is as if there is forgiveness here as well, if such a thing as Manzanar can ever be forgiven. But it will never be forgotten.

"Winds of remembrance," and release from history.

Your most beautiful crane shot, Tim. The dappled light energizes these cranes. They seem to be living entities, soaring on the winds of remembrance.
