I was so impressed with the simple beauty of many of the buildings we saw. The ceiling of the interior of the Stykkisholmur Church was covered with hanging light bulbs. So simple, yet amazingly effective. I might add that we visited this church because as I was wandering around the harbor I heard singing coming from behind a bus. It turned out to be a choir on tour and one of the singers told me there was a free concert that night at the church. So a few of us went. It was lovely and one of the highlights of the trip.
