Thanks, Tim, for making this image and posting it here. He was fascinated by both my camera and my pictures, and I was giving him a two minute crash course on expressive photography here. Your title illuminates the point of this picture -- we may represent entirely different cultures, yet we stand here on common ground. He dresses in a simple orange robe, while I wear the uniform of a photographer and the hat of a tourist. Yet in this moment, we are both sharing a common task -- we are jointly interpreting a photograph. It was fun for me to be his teacher, if just for a few minutes.
