Interesting how you and Phil's shot are of the same thing but very different in feel. At first glance I thought the child and monk were traveling together as their gaze is similar to each others. We don't know what they are so curious about out the window. I like shots like this that make us use our imaginations.
Once again, we found the same subject, yet we each handled it in our own way. Your image relies on the hands to tell us how each of these people feel at the moment. They are relaxed, as each looks out on a world moving at an equally relaxed pace. In my version (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/91824834 ), those hands are nowhere to be seen. Instead, I contrast the animation of the child to the disinterest of the monk, and I stress the identity of the bus they ride in as well. Your image is contemplative and its characters are emotionally in balance, while mine features the child as subject and uses the monk and bus window as context. We tell differing stories, only an instant apart in time and space
