For the photos from the river side I went up close to
the Reading tracks and was treated to this sight of
the rail grinding train. I don't understand how grinding
the rails, especially straight rails, helps.
Lubrication helps too - on curves.
As I emerged through the fence between the railroad and the expressway ramp, a State Policeman's car was going up the ramp. He stopped and asked why I was on the ramp; I replied that I was on the railroad, not the ramp. Why was I there? I explained the project. Show him ID, he demanded. I gave him my driver's license. The computer in his car cleared me.
The gate to the Vine Creek trail has been wide open for two days. That would have been an easier way to get where I wasn't supposed to be. I wouldn't even have had to walk.
