On this unlikely warm (48° F at 3,200' elevation) day with only remnants of snow, we decided to walk the Freeland Road boartdwalk and see if any wildlife was around.
We had a 'close encounter' with an American black bear on Timberline Road - must have sensed that he needed a break from hibernation.
