GBH Rookery in Winter

Bluemont, Virginia

Took this image from the Cool Spring side of the Shenandoah River showing what this Great Blue Heron Rookery looks like in winter.
This tree is huge and in the summer months the tree folliage keeps these nests pretty well hidden and shaded.
This stretch of the Shenandoah River has lots of these massive Sycamore Trees - so beautiful!
