Blue Jay

Canaan Valley, Davis, West Virginia

Until this visit to our Canaan Valley cabin, I hadn't realized how important a food source these Beech Nut Trees are.
In the last few days, I've spotted: Hairy, Downy, Flicker, Tufted Titmouse, Black-capped Chickadee, Red &
White-breasted Nuthatches, and Dark-eyed Juncos; as well as squirrels and chipmunks all after the beech nuts.
