Dark-eyed Junco

Riverton, West Virginia

East side of Spruce Knob. This species of sparrow stays with us in Warrenton all winter long. Come Spring, they head for high country to breed and nest.
I'm always pleased to see them; their color varies between male and female and West/East of the Mississippi.

Had to look twice, it certainly blends in well with this tree.
