Red-bellied Woodpecker (Juvenile)

Warrenton, Virginia

We have two juvenile Red-bellied Woodpeckers visiting our feeders every day. They are quite timid and don't stay very long.
They have very the similiar gray plumage of the Red-headed Woodpecker juveniles and are also similar in size. The previous image
shows how little red is showing on her head. This image shows just the faintest red on the bottom-half of the back of her head.
Best viewed in 'original' size.
