Thanks Datta and everyone who commented so kindly about this picture. The guy is my son and to see him look at his new wife with such joy makes me very happy. I really enjoy looking at this image over and over. It is not often that I am satisfied with my images, but I think this one is really special and I am happy to know that you think so too. Christy

Instinctive shooting is what attracts me to Street Photography!

Christy, I agree it is a very engaging shot. Vince's comment about instinct I think is right on. I once read an interview with a chess master. He was asked to explain why a particular move was better than another, his answer was, "because it is". He went on to say that a master does not evaluate in individual elements but looks at the whole and "sees" that one move is weaker than another. I've always felt that we should all do more "instinctive" shooting.

Fascinating picture. More than one meaning is conveyed depending upon the way a viewer looks at it,one of the strengths of a great shot.

Well done, Christy. And above all, a very handsome couple.

Cheers.

Datta.

Christy, it is rich in symbolism!

Vince, The S&P was accidental, I shot for the bag. Maybe my eye is getting better! Thanks, Christy

Duke, Merci beaucoup. The soft one is my son and the sharpie is my lovely DIL. Christy

Christy,
The element that make this work for me as something more than a simple wedding record shot is the salt and pepper in the lower left. Standing like a couple in the wedding cerimony symbolizing that marriage is the union of two different individuals with destinct personalities which go together like S&P. This may be your design or a happy accident; but I like to think that after years of shooting we develop instincts for this kind of thing and sometimes don't even notice them until someone else points them out. Good eye.

Better late than never, Christy.
Actually I'm glad you put this in- it reminds me I had one other thought for the project I'll put up in a little while.

And nice selective focus in this shot. I like the way she is crisp, and he is slighly soft.
A very good shot.
