Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia (Jan. 23, 2005) - Indonesian Air Force personnel and U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2), transport food, clothing and relief supplies from a warehouse to awaiting U.S. Navy helicopters at Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Force Base, in Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia. Essex is currently underway in support of Operation Unified Assistance, the humanitarian operation effort in the wake of the Tsunami that struck South East Asia. Essex is the Navy's only forward deployed amphibious assault ship homeported in Sasebo, Japan. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 3rd Class Travis M. Burns
