Beer Bottle Building in Goldfield

These ghost towns were famous for two forms of recreation!
The one the folks put to good use in the construction of some of their buildings, and the other... well! You can guess!

Reminds me a little of the construction at the Watts Towers
in Los Angeles.
Here's an example:

I'm playing catch up with limited internet access while on vacation. What a wonderful detail. Very resourceful.

Very cool....99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer....;-)

This is so cool! I've never seen them in person, but I've heard Goldfield is a great place to visit.

This house was built like a cordwood house; pretty inventive.

I bet this would be a dream home for any number of college guys. I love the tones of the blues of the bottles and glass with the tans of the walls.

There is a bottle house here in Wimberley....I tried, but didn't like the results. I'll give it another try after seeing this. Really well done, Mindy.

Nice shot. Interesting subject and I like the textures. It looks like it's not such a good idea to drink and build. :-)

Certain activities, it seems, cannot be surpressed. I like the composition with the fence in the lower left.
