Hawk moth

Both D70 and SB800 set to manual modes. SB800 mounted on top of D70, set to 1/8 power which results in 1/5900 sec. flash duration. When set to f/11 and 1/500s exposure, D70 gets neglible available light, so the object is lit by flash only. 1/5900s exposure almost freezes moth's high frequency wing flapping (blur due to shallow DOF). RAW read and processed with PS CS2+ACR3.1. No cropping, just Smart sharpen and resize to 50%.

Nikon D70 ,Sigma 150mm f/2.8 APO EX DG Macro HSM
1/500s f/11.0 at 150.0mm iso400 with SB800 Flash at 1/8 power full exif
