Well, Jelenko, for most of us "oldtimers" here this was the first car driven. I had 2, both of them tuned, one prepared for *National Class* car races. It was a fun to drive them, but lots of headache with frequent repairs (most of those performed on the trip, DIY way).

Oh, yes, forgot to answer your other question: we did need to keep back (motor) hood open in summer as the bottom scoop that was supposed to open automaticaly freqently stuck, remaining closed. Fixture for keeping the hood open ranged from wooden stick to fancy "Abarth like" multilink metal constructions.

Hi Pablo, I'm glad this photo brings memories back :) Fiat 600 was manufactured in our former country Yugoslavia under the licence for 20 years or so under the name Zastava 750. I had two of those, the later was equipped with 850 ccm engine which I tuned to whooping 65 HP :) It was the first car for many Croats and sign of prosperity in the fifties... It is out of production for many years now, but every now and then you can see it on the street, driven by some enthousiast.

Cool!

I Learned to drive on one of these and a Peugot 404 in my native Chile:-)

Do you have to keep the back open to keep them from overheating in Croatia?
