My Bigma experience

This is continuously growing gallery dedicated to Sigma 50-500 f4-6.3 EX APO lens. This unique lens has few flaws, but there are so much more virtues that one can easily forgive it's drawbacks, specialy when the price is taken into account. In the Example Shots gallery please find pics aliases from my "normal" galleries. All the other pics within this gallery are mostly test shots and technically oriented stuff about this lens.

Thanks for putting these images up.

I'm on the verge of buying the BIGMA for use with my Samsung GX-1L (Pentax *ist DL2 clone). Gonna be using mainly for shooting shipping out on the River Humber.

With this sort of lens I hope to be able to branch out into nature photography as well some time soon.

Very nice gallery and fine shooting, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to have evalueated this so well and the fine photos to go along with it.
I have purchased a Pentax K10D and will have to go third party for my long end needs and your efforts have help immensly. Thanks again

Hello Manel, seen your gallery, you have very nice stuff there! As for Bigma vs 80-400, I did test 80-400, but using EOS300D camera. Focusing speed and optical characteristics (but only slightly) were inferior to 50-500. On the other hand, stabilisation works great and it's a big help on most ocassions. When using TCs you loose AF and keepers rate gets down considerably. TCs are not a vise investment with both those lenses.
