The Lost Spike has all the engraving of the Last Spike, but has the actual completion date
of May 10, 1869, instead of the anticipated completion date of May 8th.
It was crafted at the same time as the Last Spike, and the family of the man who commissioned it kept it as a commemoration.
The engraving is of finer detail - likely completed after the event and not as hurriedly as the first one.
