Photo Safari to photograph Coastal Brown (Grizzly!) Bears in the Katmai National Wildlife Refuge near Kukak Bay, Alaska.

Two friends and I joined a Shoot The Light Photography Workshop (www.shootthelight.com) held by Charles (Chas) Glatzer. Before joining the workshop at Katmai Wilderness Lodge we spent a couple of days on Kodiak Island. One day we went whale watching and saw Humpbacks and Orcas. The next day we went fishing and caught Silver Salmon, Halibut and Rock Bass. Photos 100-116 are from these days.
We then flew by float plane to the Katmai Wilderness Lodge on the wild coast of the Katmai National Park (www.katmai-wilderness.com). Our main purpose was to photograph Coastal Brown (Grizzly) Bears as they come down from the hills and fish for the salmon that are running up the streams to spawn. We had an excellent experience for a week and, in addition to our fill of bears were able to photograph a number of other animals and birds. But, our focus was the bears.
