Quentin

This shoot was done in my makeshift studio in my apartment. The setup was simple, with two SB-80DX flashes and a tripod mounted camera. The technique of getting those light streaks is called "painting with light". Using a long exposure in a pitch black room, the light streaks are drawn using a flashlight. And just before the shutter closes, a burst of light is fired from a flash unit to illuminate the subject.

Quentin is a very talented singer and actor. Maybe one day he will be able to use these headshots as part of his portfolio.

I've just tried painting with light last night! Thought I'd look for other examples - well done withg this series
