This shoot was done in my makeshift studio in my apartment. The setup was simple, with two SB-80DX flashes and a tripod mounted camera. The technique of getting those light streaks is called "painting with light". Using a long exposure in a pitch black room, the light streaks are drawn using a flashlight. And just before the shutter closes, a burst of light is fired from a flash unit to illuminate the subject.
Quentin is a very talented singer and actor. Maybe one day he will be able to use these headshots as part of his portfolio. |
