On the ferry, on the way to Ilahee Manor B&B

Our anniversary — weeks delayed due to an infernal cold — begins. Here I'm using
the D3 as if it were a cheap point-and-shoot camera, or a cell phone camera. <g>
Geez. I need a shave. (And perhaps a complete face-transplant, too.)

I'm still struggling mightily with Nikon Capture NX. So I took the easy way out :) and
used SilkyPix. Not a bad result, especially in terms of our (aging!) skin-tones. SilkyPix
did a great job of accurately rendering the greens in our clothing. I've no reason to
fault the 24-85/2.8-4 lens, nor SilkyPix's handling of fine image detail . . . except of
course for the fact that this shows, uh, maybe a bit too much detail. Ah, vanity.
(The full-sized TIFF, viewed 'actual pixels,' contains a remarkable amount
of very tiny image details. This is one good digital sensor, that's for sure.)
