Even this one was affected by the storm

Some storm a long time ago must have blown this cedar tree onto its
side. But it didn't die. The root-ball has been exposed as you see it
here for a long time. The tree contined to grow, its trunk curving upward
until it rested against other trees (you can see the pronounced curve
in the photo). Near the root-ball, the trunk sloped upward at about a 15-
degree angle before the curved portion started. The recent windstorm moved
it quite a bit -- now it is lying directly across the stream.

That was some storm . . .
