The house was white before. It used to be the home of my best friend from 1st through 3rd grade, Anna Tholander. She once got an offer to be a model by Eileen Ford who had come to Stockholm looking for "model material". She was only thirteen or so at the time, just out shopping at a department store, NK, when she felt someone was eyeing her.Her parents forbade her, and, as I remember, even managed to explain why. Eileen Ford actually thought that "maybe Anna should eat a little more"! Can you imagine how thin she was? Anyway, she studied law later on and is now also a mother of three.
In this house her old mother from Gotland resided together with her parents. She always used to serve us home-baked rolls and sweet juice. Anna was the only child, but they always had one or two dachshounds, aggressive ones, too, that had to be locked up when guests came. I was always scared of them, and Anna loved them.
