This is one of the main reasons I took this trip. This is Liberty Lake which is on the other side of Liberty Pass. I had done this hike a number of years ago, when I was still using a film camera. When I got home and had the slides processed, it turned out a piece of dirt had gotten in the camera and put a horizontal scratch across every slide in multiple rolls of film. Needless to say, I wasn't a happy camper then!!! Liberty Pass is 10,450 ft and this lake is just over 10,000 ft. Considering that Mt Rose is 10,776 ft gives you an idea of how high up this is.
