This is the shot of the weekend for me. I was stalking a pair of Sandhill Cranes on the west end of the lake. They were way out on the bog and I spotted a thin strip of hopefully solid ground between two long areas with water lillies that looked like deep water. I was trying to get up the courage to walk across to the bog with the camera gear, when this Blue Darner dragonfly kept flying in front of me and would hover for a second or two. I decided, what the heck, so tried to get some shots. Managed to get a shot or two four or five times. These things rarely stop at all, let alone long enough to find them in the lens, get the lens focused, then take the shot. The bog sure makes for a nice background.
