I started taking photos on the beach where Quivett Creek flows into the bay in April, but after finishing up one morning I stopped at the cemetery on the way out. Looking back across the graveyard I saw some wonderful light reflected off the creek which was at high tide. I made my way down to the marsh, which I had walked before in the pre-dawn light, and found this fascinating bend. It immediately reminded me of Horseshoe bend in Page Arizona (although you are looking down hundreds of feet into Horseshoe Bend).
The sun had already risen, so I waited for it to hide behind the clouds. Even then I needed to blend several shots to get an acceptable dynamic range. Please check out my Recent Gallery for many other versions of this wonderful spot.
