Rudyard Kipling was named after the village, for whose family the countryside was an occasional retreat.The surrounding woodlands provide habitat for many small passerines. Unsurprisingly Severn Trent Water neglect this beauty spot from a nature point of view although at the southern end they have allowed the development of the usual revenue generators, parking fees,cafe and water sport activities.
Light not good for photographing these flighty little creatures.
