Kudos to the Dreher Zoo for providing what looks like a natural habitat to photograph this macaw, a most colorful and enchanting bird, a pleasure to view. Incredibly, the Macaw poses for this photo less than ten feet away from the camera. Shooting with my 70-200 f/4L was really a case of overpowering my subect. I could easily have moved in closer, perhaps as close as four or five feet. Had I known that, I would have shot this with my Tamron 28-75 or perhaps my Canon 50mm f/1.4. Both of those lenses would have given me far more contrast to help "pop" this wild bird out of the park.
