The infamous enchanted and pristine land of the wilds. The park and preserve is 9,492 square miles (for comparison: State of New Hampshire = 9,351 sq. miles, State of Massachusetts = 10,555 sq. miles) or about 6.1 millions acres. We spent three days visiting the park by park tour bus. Tour tickets are about $30-45/tour. Private vehicles are allowed in the park for the first 15 miles out of the 92-mile long road. We saw all the wild animals (moose, caribou, grizzlies, Dall sheep). We hiked a couple of times along the river bank and in the canyon in the rain. The wettest months are July, August and June (in that order)...
