A ten-day trip took us to the land of pristine wilderness. We drove some 1400 miles one-way from Anchorage to Seward (southern Alaska), north to Talkeetna, Denali National Park and Preserve (NPP - ranked third largest national park), Healy, Fairbank, North Pole (yes, it does exist) then southbound to Glenallen to visit the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and the Wrangell-St. Ellias NPP which is the largest national park in the U.S. before ending the trip in Anchorage. Alaska has seven major highways numbered from 1 to 9 (no 6 and 7, go figures). June has the longest daylight (23 hours). July has 22:36 hours of daylight. Summer temperature is very ideal and pleasant (mid-60s' to mid-70s').
