There are a huge number of shops, all in a neighborhood that is gated and roofed. I could have gotten equally nice things in other towns, I believe. But it is fun to walk around, although it gets very crowded as the day goes on. It seems like mostly tourists are in here and Turks buy the things they need from shops on nearby streets. They probably don't need that many souvenirs or pricey coats or textiles.
