The Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse is inhabided by the Gelugpa, the leading religious order in Tibet. The Dalai Lama is also a member of this order. The Monastery was founded in 1447 by a student of Tsjongkhapa. Pelgrims are on their way to offer and pray.
