Thanks David, George was using his old scythe at the time so I just asked him to move to that position. I did emphasise the colours as influenced by the Artists Salvador Dali and also Russell Drysdale.

Did you pose him? The tree and the handle of his implement ... and his weathered look and the shadow lines on his shirt also pick up the tree again. The red treatment might usually just seem a cliched reference to all those red associations with this dry country, but with those elements also in the shot it seems totally appropriate and works well for me. Fabulous.
