Parched and dry, Melbourne suffers from an extended drought.
Water restrictions prevent watering of lawns and parks.
Bush fires burn fiercely in the highlands 2 to 3 hundred Km north east of Melbourne,
the haze in this photograph is from these fires. This is the worst recorded particular
pollution that has been recorded in Melbourne since records have been kept!
Normally, the city of Melbourne CBD can be clearly seen in the background.
