I followed the directions for the marble and made my variations. I started with some mineral content in the stone surface. Merged Layers. Duplicated the layer added a new layer between them and blinded the bottom layer. Clicked Select>Color Range>and selected with the eyedropper from the popup. When I was satisfied with the choice I clicked Layer>New>Layer via Cut. When using this method to remove through selection I delete the cut layer. Here I retained it and the color range between the two layers is thinned. The new layer underneath was filled with a color of choise, added some noise (gausian, low percentage, mono). Merged visible layers and went through the same selection and color tinting method a few times until I was happy with the outcome. The last time I duplicated the layers (did not blind the bottom) and selected the light portions for cut and deleted the cut layer. To the top layer I applied Outer Glow which highlighted the cut area. Merged layers.
