The wood type might be the original beech, but the obvious stain makes it hard to identify. Note the incorrect shape of the boss and what looks to be the back of rivets instead of nuts, indicating that they used flat head rivets in place of the square neck bolts. The indents appear to not follow the correct pattern.

You can just barely see that the trim ring, wheel hub, and boss lip are not all the same diameter.
