On my 2nd try, after lunch, it was much more cooperative. It times the bird was less than 10 yards from where I sat in my car. It would swim around for a while, then forage along the edge.

Beautiful bird, and as good a look as I've ever had. This shot shows the subtle bronze coloration to the wings to good effect.
