Greater Shearwaters

Gulf Stream pelagic off Hatteras; NC

The 2nd day was much calmer than the 1st, though still with enough wind that a lot of birds were flying. We did see a lot of birds on the water as well, especially Greater Shearwaters.

We weren't sure whether to expect this species or not, as it was June last year before any started showing up on Brian's trips. However, several days of easterly winds no doubt helped us in this regard.
