Great Egret

Great River Rd; Dyer Co, TN

Not as crisp as I'd hoped, but the bright lime-green lores of birds in high-breeding condition are worth looking at, and not illustrated all that often. The aigrettes of this bird are unusually buffy?

the buffy aigrettes are probably due to muddy water or dirt as the bird's feathers skim the ground. You have a great galleries by the way, I gotta get down to Tennessee sometime!
