Plain-breasted Hawk

Sierra de Lema

This little accipiter caused a lot of confusion when it came in right over our heads, on the Esclara. We were deep in the woods trying to see a singing Plain Antvireo, when David saw this bird come in. We went through several ID's, but Plain-breasted Hawk (sometimes considered a Sharp-shinned subspecies) is the only one that fits well at all.
