This pair of Western Grebes was a big surprise, as was the Red-necked Grebe. I don't think either has been seen in a couple of months, and I missed them both on my last few trips in the area.

These birds were loosely hanging around with a sizeable group of Red-breasted Mergansers; in the main river just north of Coot Bay.
