Rusties are in big trouble, and I've only seen a handful yet this winter. This bird is pretty lightly-marked, resembling some 1st-year male Brewer's this time of the year. It had light rust markings on the tertials though, and the bill isn't heavy enough at the base for Brewer's. Feeding in a wet spot in the woods was a good clue as well!
