Western Grebe

This is the shot showing white lores, and a fairly bright bill.

After both birds were again seen together in the same area, the above shot is indeed just a good example of the tricks reflective lighting can play. The white lores, are just an artifact of the lighting washing a lighter gray in this region of one of the birds. The bill, likewise, is being lightened as well.
