Long-toed Stints

Korea

We had Long-toed Stints only in the Seosan area, but had great looks at all of the 8 we saw. These were the 1st two seen, which Nial spotted as we drove through the area on our bus! The light is a little harsh, but the rich rufous tones can be seen, a little brighter and broader edged to my eyes than our breeding-plumage Least Sands. I have another shot for later where the long toe can be seen. The nice split-supercilium can be seen on these birds, as well as the cap extending all the way down to the bill.

At one time we had Long-toed and our only Temmicks's Stint feeding side-by-side in the grassy margin of a pool! Nice pair of birds from a TN perspective, and the only Stints Jeff Wilson hasn't YET found in TN!
