This is more typical habitat, with them staying near cover along the edge of an overgrown sleugh. This image was taken off of the platform at the end of Walnut Log Road at Reelfoot Lake. The male is a very gaudy duck when seen out in the open, but they blend in surprisingly well in their preferred surroundings.
