Double-crested Cormorant

Hatchie NWR, TN

This is a juvenile Double-crested, aged by the brown neck. Neotropic is a lankier bird, with a thinner neck and noticeably longer tail. The shape of the gular patch also differs, being rounded on this bird, but coming to a noticeable point on a Neotropic. The orange lores also differs from Neotropic, which is always dull in this region.
