This was the only Moorhen I saw on the trip, and belongs to the endangered 'sandvicensis' race found only in the Hawaiian islands. This bird was seen along a pond on the Kauai Lagoons Golf Course. This is along the way to Ninini Point, a great place to scope for seabirds.
