This is one of the birds I was really hoping to photograph, and just spend some time with in NC, and hopefully see one of these days in TN. I only had these birds, 6 of them, in one location on a fairly crowded beach at Hatteras Village. A few people wondered what (or who) I was photographing, but a few did come and enjoy some great looks at this big, charismatic shorebird.
